Special Education Teacher #ESC

An education and student-support organization providing specialized tutoring and individualized educational services is seeking Special Education Teachers to help students overcome academic, developmental, and learning challenges through personalized instruction and support. This opportunity is ideal for NYS-certified Special Education Teachers who are passionate about creating engaging learning experiences, adapting instruction to individual needs, and helping students reach their academic and personal potential.

What you will be doing:

• Provide individualized and specialized instruction based on each student's learning needs.
• Develop and implement appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and academic goals.
• Adapt curriculum, materials, and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Support students in developing academic, organizational, social, and functional skills.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on performance and individual needs.
• Collaborate with therapists, parents, administrators, and other educational professionals.
• Maintain accurate student records, progress documentation, and required educational paperwork.
• Participate in evaluations, observations, and development of individualized student support plans.
• Create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Help students build confidence, independence, and the skills necessary for long-term success.

Experience you will need:

• Current NYS General Education or Special Education teaching certification, as applicable.
• Experience working with students with disabilities or diverse learning needs.
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to develop engaging lessons and adapt instruction to student needs.
• Candidates with NYS reciprocal licenses and qualified retired educators are encouraged to apply.
