Google Cloud Senior Engineer; Senior Enterprise Communications Engineer

Overview

Ensures integrity of the network devices, communication systems software, and hardware. Identifies, programs and maintains all network and communication applications. Assists and participates in the review and design of new or existing network infrastructure and systems. Develops and conducts in-service training on new applications.

• Responsible for engineering and integrity of the networking and communication system’s software, hardware, and configurations.
• Responsible for identifying, engineering/designing and programming of networking infrastructure and communication applications.
• Develops knowledge base documents and conducts knowledge transfer among engineering team.
• Assists in the review and evaluation of project requests and recommends appropriate action.
• Administers installation and repair services.
• Responsible for first level problem resolution for all health system locations.
• Gives guidance and direction to engineering team and outside service technicians.
• Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

• Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
• Strong preference for Sr level candidates with Operational or Engineering Sr-level experience in Google Cloud.
• 10 years of relevant network experience including hands-on configurations / operational support.
• CCNP certification is a plus.
• Extensive hands-on experience with routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP.
• Strong understanding of Wireshark captures.
• Experience with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Firewalls, VPNs, Citrix Load Balancers.
• Cloud technologies (Google/Equinix/Azure); hands-on experience with Google and Azure Clouds is a must.
• VPC peering / VPN concepts, configuration / troubleshooting.
• Must be able to navigate log-explorer and filter on flows in question.
• Strong understanding of Equinix Partner interconnects and Google native load balancers.
• Proficiency in Terraform and Git.
• Use of automation tools (Python) is a plus; ACI and Wireless (Cisco) are also a plus.
• Network Management tools (Solar Winds) and excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communications and time management skills; team-oriented mindset.
