Bridge Engineer (Transportation)

GPI seeks a Bridge Engineer familiar with the design of bridges for NYSDOT, PANYNJ, NYCDOT, or other NY agencies to join our team in our Melville or Manhattan offices.

- Perform structural analysis and design of new and rehabilitated bridges
- Prepare and ensure documents meet NYSDOT drafting standards, contract requirements, and QA/QC procedures
- Participate in or lead bridge inspections
- Work independently on assigned tasks while coordinating with Project Managers, Designers, and various agencies
- Provide engineering support during construction
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and completeness
- BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- EIT is required, although a New York State PE is preferred. A New Jersey PE is a plus.
- 5 to 10 years of experience working in the bridge industry
- Experience working in a team environment, providing technical direction to a design team on minor and major bridge projects
