Support mechanical and electrical engineers developing residential electrical products. Fabricate prototypes, operate 3D printers and metrology equipment, build test fixtures, perform mechanical testing, perform electrical 120V – 240 V AC testing, and assist with troubleshooting.
Responsibilities- Fabricate and assemble prototype parts, products, and test fixtures.
- Work from drawings, CAD models, bills of material, schematics, and specifications.
- Operate and maintain 3D printer.
- Inspect parts using optical measurement equipment, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and similar tools.
- Perform assigned mechanical, electrical, dimensional, and functional testing.
- Support prototype troubleshooting, teardown, and failure analysis.
- Document builds, measurements, test results, and deviations.
- Maintain an organized and safe engineering laboratory.
- Work within Leviton’s safety procedures while operating tools and 120V – 240 V electrical power sources.
- One to three years of relevant prototype, fabrication, laboratory, metrology, additive-manufacturing, or electromechanical assembly experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on fabrication skills.
- Ability to interpret drawings, dimensions, tolerances, specifications, and basic schematics.
- Familiarity with 3D printing and dimensional inspection tools.
- Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Strong organization and documentation skills.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Solid Works and basic GD&T knowledge preferred.
- Experience with soldering, wiring, electrical test equipment, or test-fixture fabrication preferred.
- Experience supporting new-product development or regulated electrical and mechanical products preferred.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Metrology, or a related engineering-technology discipline. Equivalent technical training and experience may be considered.

Pay Range$52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
