Our client is looking to bring on an Accountant to support their SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting teams. This will be a 2 month contract with potential extension and ideally the team would like the selected candidate to come into the office 2 days per week in Melville, NY.

Analyst, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting
Join our SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team in a pivotal role focused on the preparation of our Form 10-Q, with assistance as needed in aspects of the financial close. You will be the a key component of our quarterly filing process, from data entry to preparing and owning analyses, tracking reporting work streams, and ensuring the integrity of our corporate financial disclosures.
This role sits at the intersection of financial data systems, high-level regulatory reporting (SEC), and global consolidation processes. In addition to the above SEC Reporting focus areas, it offers exposure to managing metadata, reviewing journal entries/eliminations, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities- 10-Q Preparation: Support the preparation, analysis, and review of quarterly financial reports, ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance with corporate standards.
- Data & Systems Management: Execute and refine data pulls, translating raw system data into meaningful analyses that support our footnotes and disclosures.
- Analytical Review: Compile and review analytical explanations for business drivers across various accounts and intersections.
- Workpaper Documentation: Maintain robust work papers and supporting documentation.
- Process Coordination: Act like a project manager for the filing cycle—tracking progress, managing requests, and ensuring all milestones are met on time.
- Special Projects: Support the Technical Accounting team with ad-hoc reporting projects and research as needed.
- Corporate Reporting & Analysis:
- Review and post corporate journal entries and eliminations.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial data.
- Load trial balance input, financial reporting packages, and foreign currency translation rates.
- Review, approve, and implement metadata changes while ensuring data consistency and integrity.
- Collaborate with contributors within and outside of immediate department.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven track record in financial reporting or corporate accounting. Experience with SEC reporting is highly preferred.

Skills:
You should be proficient in excel functionality, including pivot tables and advanced formulas. - Soft Skills:
