Position Summary Candescent is seeking a detail-oriented Sales Commission Analyst I to join our Finance team. Based in Melville, NY, this entry-to-mid-level role supports the administration, calculation, and validation of sales compensation programs across the organization, working under the guidance of Director, Accounting. The Sales Commission Analyst I will assist with day-to-day commission processing, data entry, reconciliations, and reporting, while building foundational knowledge of sales compensation and finance operations.
This position is well-suited for someone early in their finance or accounting career who is eager to develop analytical and reconciliation skills in a structured.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly sales commission calculations, following documented compensation plan rules.
- Perform first-level data validation checks (e.g., missing fields, formula errors).
- Maintain and organize commission calculation files, adjustment logs, and supporting documentation.
- Enter approved commission adjustments into payroll/commission systems.
- Respond to commission inquiries from sales representatives; elevate complex or disputed cases to Director, Accounting.
- Assist in preparing Prepare commission accrual worksheets for month-end and quarter-end close, for senior review.
- Support reconciliation of commission expense accounts by pulling and organizing supporting data.
- Update recurring reports and dashboards using established templates.
- Compile data for compensation trend analysis under senior analyst direction.
- Follow established internal controls and documented procedures for sales compensation processing.
- Help maintain and update process documentation.
- Flag data inconsistencies or process gaps Director, Accounting.
- Support testing of updates to commission tools and workflows.
- Provide data pulls and administrative support to Sales, Revenue Operations, Accounting, FP&A, HR, and Payroll teams as directed.
- Assist senior analysts in preparing Prepare materials for new compensation plan reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, payroll, or a related function; internship experience considered.
- Basic understanding of financial reconciliations and reporting concepts.
- Proficient in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and standard formulas.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow established procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage routine tasks and deadlines with guidance.

- Exposure to Salesforce, Workday, or similar HR/CRM/commission platforms.
