LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a client in Central Long Island to fill several Insurance A/R Follow Up positions in their Physician Billing department. Ideal candidates will be available to work on-site Monday thru Friday and have physician billing experience across multiple specialties. Use of EPIC and Excel are preferred.

Comp for the role ranges from $23-$26/hour plus dental, vision and health insurance benefits.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES – INSURANCE FOLLOW UP PHYSICIAN BILLING
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid Governmental Benefits & Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Medical Insurance Coverages and submitting primary/secondary insurance and following up on the same.
  • Ability to verify accuracy of patient insurance and demographic information.
  • Perform follow-up on all outstanding accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Place Outbound Calls to Insurance for Status of Outstanding Claims.
  • Analyze Remittance/Explanation of Benefits.
  • Submit Appeals for Denials and/or Underpayments.
  • Determine Patient Responsibility.
  • Verify Insurance Coverage, Contact Guarantor Regarding Insurance Discrepancies.
  • Strong communication, documentation, follow-up, analytical and computer skill sets.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College degree in appropriate field preferred.
  • 3 years experience minimum with billing, reimbursement and collections within healthcare.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • EPIC software system.
  • Full knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Full knowledge of third-party billing (use of modifiers and coordination of benefit rules).
  • Proficient with utilizing third-party websites.
  • Ability to read and correctly interpret an explanation of benefits.
  • Understand and adheres to HIPAA and PHI guidelines.
  • Understand and adheres to state and federal regulations and to the Company policies and procedures regarding compliance, integrity, patient privacy and ethical billing and collection practices.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, written, and typing skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
