Job DescriptionStandard Requirements
Salary Range: $20.00 - $21.00 Hourly
Full Time
- Performs day-to-day laundry functions as assigned.
- Performs specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Performs assigned tasks in accordance with established laundry procedures.
- Collects, sorts, and weighs soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and places in appropriate containers or assigned areas.
- Sorts soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and separates those items that require special stain removal/treatment.
- Sorts, counts, and washes soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., in accordance with established procedures.
- Presses/irons garments instructed.
- Folds, counts, stacks, hangs, and distributes clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents daily and/or as instructed.
- During emergency conditions, assure that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed.
- Cleans floors, including sweeping, dusting, and damp/wet mopping.
- Assures that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.
- Keeps walls and ceilings clean by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
- Removes dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from equipment or floor surfaces, using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
- Discards waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
- Ensures that work, cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
- Reports all accidents/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be. (
NOTE:
Such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur.) - Coordinates daily laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
The employee must maintain skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate the following equipment and machines used in the performance of this job:
- Washer
- Dryer
Basic Qualifications :
- Education/Training:
High School Diploma - Experience:
Previous laundry experience preferred. - Working Conditions:
Moves intermittently during working hours and subject to frequent interruptions. - Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills; ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
