Description

We are looking for dedicated and skilled attorneys to join a full-service defense law firm based in Melville, New York. The firm serves a diverse clientele including corporate entities, municipalities, and individuals, offering expertise in areas such as general litigation, labor and employment law, and school law. Responsibilities:

- Handle cases related to general litigation, labor and employment law, and school law with a high level of professionalism.

- Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents while ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.

- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client advocacy.

- Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and other legal forums as required.

- Manage discovery processes, including document review and preparation, depositions, and interrogatories.

- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop effective case strategies and solutions.

- Engage with opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders to advance case objectives.

- Maintain organized records and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on various matters within the firm's practice areas.

- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents to ensure informed counsel.

Requirements

- Licensed attorney with active admission to the bar in New York.

- About 2-7 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on general litigation, labor and employment law, or school law.

- Proficient in drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

- Strong research and analytical skills to support case preparation and strategy development.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective advocacy and client interactions.

- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.

- Familiarity with discovery processes, including document review and depositions.
