Our client, a busy Long Island law firm specializing in foreclosure defense, landlord‑tenant litigation, and general litigation for individuals and businesses is seeking a motivated, experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of litigation in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities The Litigation Paralegal Will
  • Manage all phases of litigation support, including preparation and filing of:
    • Pleadings
    • Motions
    • Affidavits
    • Briefs
    • Discovery documents
  • Draft and organize:
    • Answers
    • Counterclaims
    • Oppositions to motions
    • Court submissions in foreclosure and related litigation
  • Maintain and organize:
    • Case files
    • Exhibits
    • Legal research for litigation and motion practice
  • Prepare legal correspondence and case summaries, and assist with strategy planning
  • Work directly with attorneys and clients to support:
    • Case preparation
    • Calendaring court deadlines
    • Coordinating filings with state and federal courts
  • Assist in landlord‑tenant litigation matters, including:
    • Eviction proceedings
    • Rent collection matters
    • Court appearance support
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of foreclosure litigation experience, including hands‑on drafting and filing of litigation documents
  • Strong familiarity with New York Civil Practice Law & Rules (CPLR) and relevant civil procedure in New York courts
  • Proficiency in preparing:
    • Pleadings
    • Motions
    • Discovery demands and responses
    • Related litigation support tasks
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a busy practice
  • Strong legal writing, editing, and document review proficiency
  • Ability to work directly with attorneys, clients, and court staff in a professional manner
  • Superior attention to detail, follow‑through, and ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with state and local court e‑filing systems and litigation‑related case management software
  • Knowledge of landlord‑tenant litigation procedures and foreclosure defense strategies
  • Ability to take initiative, solve problems independently, and learn new legal processes quickly
