Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for full time SMARTSERVICE ROUTE DRIVER positions.
Location: Melville Canteen – 255 Pinelawn Road, Melville, NY 11747.

Schedule: Full‑time schedule. Monday – Friday, hours may vary. More details upon interview.

Fixed Pay Rate: $22.25 per hour.
Commission routes! All Canteen driving roles may include commission eligibility.
Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prior to beginning each day’s route, ensure that truck is properly loaded with all product required to properly service all scheduled machines following outlined operational procedures.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels and product distribution for vending machines.
  • Load hand cart with totes of product, walk to the machines, load the machines, and return to truck with hand truck of empty totes.
  • Perform product rotation to ensure freshness at designated client locations for vending machines.
  • Provide client and customer satisfaction in every aspect of job performance.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of vending machines and other related equipment.
  • Conduct minor service and adjustments on machines; when necessary, report defective equipment to designated maintenance repair service operators or technician dispatcher.
  • Maintain accurate machine product and inventory data via a handheld computer.
  • Inform regular clients and customers of new products or services.
  • Listen to and resolve service complaints; report all client and/or customer complaints to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays, or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
  • Accountable for all receipt of goods, invoices, delivery tickets, cash received or collected, and product.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Keep company vehicle clean and organized at all times; perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3 years driving experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license, ensuring safe operation of company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
  • Preferred 1‑2 years’ experience in a customer service position, or a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
