Job Description
The Purchasing Specialist evaluates purchase requisitions, identifies appropriate suppliers, and places accurate and timely orders in line with established policies. This role focuses on sourcing electronic and electromechanical parts, ensuring competitive pricing, dependable delivery, and consistent quality, while maintaining strong relationships with internal departments and external vendors.
Responsibilities
+ Review and analyze assigned purchase requisitions to ensure accurate item descriptions, part numbers, specifications, and other required details.
+ Place purchase orders in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
+ Identify and establish reliable sources of supply that provide reasonable pricing, dependable shipment, and consistent quality.
+ Expedite, monitor, and administer open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that arise.
+ Maintain organized and up-to-date files and records on all orders in process.
+ Interview sales representatives and vendors to evaluate products and services, and route descriptive literature and technical information to the appropriate departments.
+ Maintain effective liaison between all internal departments and vendors to support efficient purchasing and supply chain operations.
+ Develop new sources of supply for both new and routine materials to support business needs and mitigate supply risk.
+ Coordinate and consolidate orders from different origins to leverage quantity discounts and optimize purchasing costs.
+ Collaborate closely with a team of buyers and planners to align purchasing activities with production and planning requirements.
+ Prepare and review technical specifications and related documents to support accurate and compliant purchasing.
Essential Skills
+ 4-5 years of experience in purchasing electronic and electromechanical parts, preferably within the RF commercial or military industry.
+ Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an associate degree in a related field.
+ Strong purchasing, procurement, and supply chain knowledge, including experience with purchase orders and supplier management.
+ Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Experience writing technical specifications and other technical documents.
+ Proficiency with Costpoint or similar ERP systems.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

+ Experience working with electronic and electromechanical components in a commercial or military RF environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
+ Ability to coordinate multiple orders and suppliers to achieve cost savings through quantity pricing.
+ Comfort working in a structured purchasing environment with established policies and procedures.
Work Environment
The Purchasing Specialist works as part of a small, collaborative procurement team consisting of approximately three buyers and partners closely with about four planners. The role operates within an ERP-driven environment, using systems such as Costpoint and Microsoft Office to manage purchase orders, supplier communications, and documentation. The position involves frequent interaction with internal departments and external vendors, emphasizing teamwork, communication, and coordination to support efficient supply chain operations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
- Pay Period:
Weekly, Direct Deposit only
