Always Compassionate Health is a licensed home‑care services agency dedicated to providing high‑quality, compassionate community home‑based care. We are looking for experienced Vascular Access Registered Nurses with VA‑BC certification to join our team on a per‑diem basis. The role focuses on ultrasound‑guided midline catheter placement for patients in their homes, working closely with clinical and care‑coordination teams.
Qualifications- At least 3–5 years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time experience as a vascular access registered nurse in a home‑care infusion company, hospital, clinic, or medical facility.
- Supervisory or managerial experience (preferred).
- Vascular access experience and VA‑BC certification is required.
- Experience infusing IV/SQIG and biologic medications.
- Knowledge of supervision, performance evaluation, and education practices.
- Knowledge of Federal HIPAA regulations.
- Knowledge of standard nursing policies, procedures, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret clinical documents, including physicians' orders and treatment plans.
- Ability to participate in a multidisciplinary health‑care team.
- NYS Registered Nursing License and Registration Certificate; must hold VA‑BC certification.
- BLS required; ACLS preferred.
- Up‑to‑date medical exam, including physical, TB clearance (QuantiFERON Gold, 2‑step PPD or T‑Spot, or chest X‑ray and habituation statement).
- MMR‑Varicella titers laboratory report or vaccination records.
- TDAP vaccine – Hep B vaccination series, titers or declination.
- Urine drug screen (UDS) within the last six months (acceptable).
- Flu vaccination (if applicable) or declination.
- Two (2) forms of government‑approved validate employment eligibility.
- Two satisfactory professional references.
- Malpractice insurance.
- Reliable transportation.
- Registered Nurse status.
- Perform ultrasound‑guided midline catheter insertions at patients' homes in accordance with clinical best practices and physician orders.
- Assess patient vascular access needs and determine the most appropriate insertion site using ultrasound guidance.
- Educate patients and caregivers on catheter care, maintenance, and signs of complications.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with referring physicians, care teams, and agency staff regarding patient status and any complications.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain sterile technique throughout all procedures.
- Respond promptly to scheduled visits and coordinate scheduling with the office as needed; perform follow‑up visits as required.
- Precept and evaluate the skills of newly hired nurses upon request.
- Collaborate with infusion manager, coordinators, and other internal office staff.
- Conduct on‑site field visits to provide patient care and, upon request, supervise nursing staff competence.
- Multitask and prioritize work responsibilities; time‑management skills are essential.
- Use a computer and tablet for paperless clinical documentation.
Pay: $150+ per case/service. Additional services pay between $60 and $150 per case/service. Expected hours:
Minimum 6 hours per week (home visit cases).
