Associate Scientist, Technical Products Research
Role & ResponsibilitiesAssociate Scientist/Engineer of Technical Products Research group working in Global R&I (Research & Innovation). Responsible for helping to deliver new & or improved products through in-depth consumer understanding - uncovering & translating consumer beliefs, needs & desires into critical product design features and technologies, experiential cues & claims. This includes defining targets & acceptable ranges for performance (product & pack) & consumer models that directly link innovation choices to consumer desired benefits & experiences.
Will work across category on platform & upstream research projects, working with Advanced Technologies, Formulation, Packaging & Processing innovation partners. Responsible for being the voice of the consumer to help guide & inform the technology innovation teams on opportunities & implications of technical choices.
An Associate Scientist/Engineer within the Technical Products Research team helps to uncover & translate consumer beliefs, needs & desires into critical functional benefits, design features, experiential signals, consumer claims, for upstream unbranded technologies and projects. Helps determine critical technical attributes & drives innovation distinctiveness. Guides & informs the technical innovation teams on opportunities & implications of technical choices. Ensures holistic technical design: products + packaging/device + regimen.
Develops technical benefit statements & core claim spaces for technologies.
An entry level Associate Scientist/Engineer within Technical Products Research will help to design & deliver new products – assessing new technologies with the consumer to deliver breakthrough products. They will plan & execute their own work, with help from manager, supporting the projects, delivering it reliably, punctually, ensuring quality content & sharing learnings. They will build category understanding of ELC products, packages / devices, using their technical knowledge to generate & analyze data, recognize & flag unexpected learnings.
They will become competent in standard operating procedures & methodologies used within their department. Support in consumer model development, consumer performance targets & specifications.
Onboards and develops technical skills in consumer understanding – learns core consumer research & analysis techniques. Role models collaboration & the power of the team. Practices abundance mentality - generous in sharing praise & credit.
