We're rising to new heights and were looking for a talented and experienced Bakery Bench Manager to join our growing team!
This exciting opportunity is based out of one of our Long Island store locations and plays a vital leadership role across our regional bakery operations, supporting multiple locations on Long Island. As the Bakery Bench Manager, you'll be the go-to expert for ensuring smooth bakery operations, high-quality production, and timely execution of specialty orders all while maintaining our commitment to excellence in customer service and food safety.
What You’ll Do:- Oversee the day-to-day flow and production of bakery goods across assigned stores
- Ensure each bakery location is fully stocked with fresh, high-quality ingredients and supplies
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards by ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized
- Lead recruiting efforts by conducting interviews and hiring qualified bakery staff
- Develop and manage effective staff schedules based on business needs
- Provide hands‑on training to ensure teams consistently deliver exceptional baked products
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance, offering coaching and corrective action when needed
- Collaborate with department leaders to ensure proper merchandising and presentation of bakery items in display cases
- Inspect finished bakery items for consistency, quality, and visual appeal
- Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and care
- Support bakery operations in New Jersey
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support store success
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or Baking & Pastry Arts preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a bakery or similar food production environment
- Valid and current Food Handlers License required
- Deep knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Computer proficiency and solid math skills for inventory, ordering, and scheduling
- Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
