- Conduct unarmed foot patrols in government, corporate, retail, or fast‑food environments.
- Provide superior service to customers, visitors, and employees.
- Compose reports and maintain written logs as required.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
- Control access and egress, permitting authorized persons and monitoring entrances and exits.
- Deterr criminal activity and misconduct.
- Perform additional duties as needed, including first aid and emergency notifications.
- Participate in SSC’s G.E.T. (Greet, Engage, Thank) principles by welcoming guests warmly, engaging proactively, and thanking them for their patronage.
- Proactively scan for potential threats from criminal activity or life‑safety issues.
- Seek and develop rapport with customers by assessing what matters to them and addressing it.
- Stay current with crime trends, terrorist threats, and local businesses that may affect site safety.
- Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that could create security concerns or safety hazards.
- Sound alarms or call police/fire departments in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
- Identify and warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
- Prevent theft of company property.
- Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
- Liaise with local law enforcement.
- Share information with customers when interactions require it.
- Guide customers to destinations, available open lines, or key points of interest.
- Answer customer inquiries and anticipate their needs.
- Facilitate guest services, including transportation and area attraction inquiries.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and relay relevant information to management.
- Maintain the cleanliness and professionalism of the job site area.
- Assist with basic first aid.
- Make emergency notifications.
- Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a State Licensed Unarmed Security Guard Card/License if required by state/locality.
- Must pass a State licensing test if driving a company‑owned or client‑provided vehicle.
- At least 18 years old, or the age required by state law.
- U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to work legally in the United States.
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and / or console monitors.
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially with the public and develop rapport.
- Strong interpersonal skills: warm, engaging, charismatic, and sincere.
- Good judgment, high integrity, and proactive initiative with minimal supervision.
- Resourceful, critical thinker capable of finding solutions with limited resources.
- Positive attitude when navigating challenging situations.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Must provide a DD‑214 discharge document upon job offer if prior military service.
- Graduate of an accredited high school or GED certificate with one year of security officer experience strongly preferred.
- Follow orders.
- Proficient with computer applications, especially Microsoft Office.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Active listening.
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively.
- Identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
