Courier​/Swing Drvr​/CDL

Responsibilities

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick‑up of packages; checks shipments for conformance to Fed Ex service features; covers all assigned routes within the station’s service area; performs related customer service functions; includes delivery, pick‑up or shuttle of dangerous goods packages which require the vehicle to be placarded. Performs other duties as assigned.

Tuesday–Saturday:
Various Hours

High school diploma/GED

Six (6) months courier experience preferred.

• Demonstrate area knowledge
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of the station’s service area preferred
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability & excellent courier methods
• Meet & maintain the qualifications as outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations
• Pass Fed Ex Express & regulatory/statutory required background checks or security threat assessments
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance

• FMCSA covered safety sensitive position
• Medical exam required
• Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Must obtain & maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) & a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for the vehicle assigned & have a good driving record as outlined in policy
• Neat appearance required due to customer contact
