Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Manager for a full-time, on-site role located in Melvindale, MI. The Finance Manager will be responsible for assisting with financial operations, payroll, depositing and recording incoming funds, processing payables, including housing assistance payments to HCV landlords, budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Day-to-day tasks involve preparing financial statements, managing accounts, coordinating audits, and providing financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.

This role is fundamental in maintaining the financial health and accountability of the organization.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial planning, and analysis
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements and reports
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and audit coordination
  • Strong skills in accounting principles, accounts payable, and accounts receivable management
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience in public housing, nonprofit, or government finance is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
