Role DescriptionThis is a full‑time, on‑site Salesperson role based in Melvindale, MI. The Salesperson will identify and pursue new business opportunities, focusing on companies that require domestic and cross‑border freight services. Daily responsibilities include prospecting and cold calling, building and maintaining a pipeline, preparing and presenting competitive quotes, and negotiating rates and service terms. The role also involves managing existing accounts, providing ongoing support, and collaborating with operations and customer service teams to ensure shipments meet client expectations.
The Salesperson will regularly update the CRM system, track performance against sales goals, and stay informed about industry trends and company service offerings.
- Proven sales experience, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or a related B2B environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to engage diverse clients professionally.
- Solid organizational and time‑management skills, including managing a sales pipeline and meeting targets.
- Comfort using CRM tools and basic office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentations) to track and report activity.
- Knowledge of domestic and cross‑border shipping processes is highly beneficial; willingness to learn industry specifics is essential.
- Ability to work on site in Melvindale, MI, visit customer locations as needed, and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary education in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client visits, subject to applicable company policies.
