Automotive Deal Specialist

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Shared Resource Center (SRC) team. This position is responsible for reviewing and posting vehicle deals to the general ledger for multiple dealerships across several states, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company accounting policies.

• Review and post new and used vehicle deals to the general ledger
• Verify deal structure, inventory transactions, and accounting accuracy
• Ensure proper recording of vehicle sales, trade-ins, payoffs, incentives, warranties, and ancillary products
• Reconcile inventory-related accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Work closely with dealership personnel to resolve accounting and documentation issues
• Assist with month‑end closing activities and account reconciliations
• Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting procedures across multiple dealership locations
• Support a high‑volume, fast‑paced accounting environment

• Automotive dealership accounting experience required
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger accounting
• Knowledge of vehicle inventory accounting and reconciliation processes
• Understanding of cost accounting principles
• Ability to analyze transactions and determine their financial impact
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Proficiency with dealership management systems and Microsoft Excel preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• You know the difference between a balance sheet account and an expense account.
• You understand that inventory doesn't magically disappear when a vehicle is sold.
• You can identify when a deal is missing key accounting components.
• You understand that every transaction has both a debit and a credit—and you know where they belong.
• You can maintain accuracy while processing a high volume of transactions across multiple dealerships.
