B2B Collections Specialist (Accounts Receivable)
Location: Memphis, TN (100% in office)
Type: Contract-to-Hire
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive B2B Collections Specialist to manage business-to-business accounts and drive timely payment of outstanding invoices. This role is responsible for maintaining strong client relationships while ensuring effective collections, reducing aging, and improving cash flow.
The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a sense of urgency, and experience handling high-volume receivables in a professional B2B environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of B2B accounts, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding invoices
- Conduct outbound collection calls and email communications with customers regarding past-due balances
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short pays, and disputes in collaboration with internal teams
- Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate aging reports
- Negotiate payment plans and settlements when appropriate
- Partner with sales, customer service, and operations teams to resolve account issues
- Maintain detailed documentation of all collection activities in ERP/CRM systems
- Monitor customer payment trends and elevate high-risk accounts as needed
- Support month-end close processes related to receivables and cash application
- 2+ years of experience in B2B collections, accounts receivable, or credit/collections
- Strong understanding of AR aging, cash application, and collections processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (phone + email)
- Proven ability to handle high-volume accounts and prioritize effectively
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Net Suite, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience in factoring, logistics, or high-volume invoicing environments
- Exposure to credit analysis or risk assessment
- Ability to manage complex or escalated client accounts
