Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a long-term contract opportunity in Memphis, Tennessee. This position centers on maintaining strong supplier relationships, guiding vendors through registration requirements, and ensuring timely follow-up in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. The ideal candidate brings a sharp eye for detail, a service-focused communication style, and the ability to keep multiple supplier interactions moving toward completion.

Responsibilities:

- Track supplier enrollment progress and take prompt action to move incomplete registrations toward completion.

- Communicate with vendors through email and phone to answer questions, provide guidance, and resolve registration obstacles.

- Maintain accurate records of supplier activity, outreach attempts, and status updates within designated systems.

- Partner with internal stakeholders to support accounts payable processes related to vendor setup and payment readiness.

- Review submitted supplier information for completeness and accuracy, escalating exceptions when needed.

- Manage a high volume of daily follow-up tasks while meeting established productivity and quality expectations.

- Build positive working relationships with suppliers by delivering responsive, attentive customer service.

- Contribute to project activities tied to a third-party supplier registration and payment platform rollout.

Requirements - Prior experience in accounts payable, vendor management, or supplier support is required.

- Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of work without sacrificing accuracy.

- Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to follow-up and task ownership.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for supplier-facing interactions.

- Proven customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally and efficiently.

- High attention to detail when reviewing documentation, tracking status, and updating records.

- Comfort working within structured activity goals and daily performance expectations.
