Position: Administrative Assistant | Germantown | Case Management | Days

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical, secretarial, and administrative support as required by the department.
  • Use independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload.
  • Interact with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Type and prepare correspondence and materials for the department using Microsoft Office programs.
  • Offer assistance to visitors, answer the telephone, and handle mail for the department.
  • Perform administrative, scheduling, and support functions for the department.
  • Order and maintain supplies, materials, equipment, etc., for the department.
  • Maintain departmental records in compliance with department policy, hospital policy, and/or governmental regulations.
  • Perform various office support duties specific to the department assigned.
Education and Training Requirements

No formal education required.

Work Experience Requirements

1-3 years of clerical experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in secretarial responsibilities such as typing and letter composition.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.
  • Proficiency in use of basic office equipment, multi-line phones, and data entry.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to evaluate problematic situations and adapt, respond, and advise appropriate staff.
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential information and sensitive issues.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both internally and externally.
Supervision

No supervisory responsibilities are assigned to this position.

Physical Demands

Light work up to 25 lbs for lifting or up to 10 lbs frequently; requires good balance, coordination, and close visual acuity to perform tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and extensive reading. May involve walking, standing, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, repetitive motion, and traveling between Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare hospitals.
