Job Overview
USPS is hiring automotive technicians for Memphis, TN. In this role, you will perform routine and complex repairs and maintenance on all types of motor vehicles in the postal fleet.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex repairs and maintenance on all types of motor vehicles in the postal fleet.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot more complex vehicle malfunctions.
- Perform operational checks on engines, major supporting systems, parts and components.
- Conduct computerized and electronic diagnostic tests using specialized equipment.
- Prepare and update vehicle records, annotate labor time, and manage work orders.
- Conduct visual and auditory vehicle inspections and road calls.
- Successfully complete Postal Service Test 943 and Test 944, demonstrating knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair automotive systems.
- Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS); eligibility to contribute to the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).
- Option to enroll in Postal Service Health Program (PSHB).
- Federal Employees Group Life Insurance (FEGLI).
