Operations Advisor - Brokerage

As a key member of our customs brokerage team, you will be responsible for recommending, implementing, and ensuring policies and procedures that guarantee uniform compliance in customer account processing.

• Recommend, implement, and ensure policies and procedures for uniform compliance in processing customer accounts.
• Monitor and control operational activities, ensuring consistent and uniform processing through developing reports, reporting methods, writing procedures, and resolving customer and technical issues.
• Initiate and respond to executives, managers, and senior advisors on issues regarding all aspects of T&B customer partnerships, customer requirements, services offered, quality assurance, and contractual agreements.
• Assist with the direction and success of multifunctional brokerage operations, including developing and growing the account globally.
• Analyze and assess compliance with U.S. Customs and other government agencies, laws, and regulations.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of new services offered to customers.
• Identify areas requiring improvement and coordinate improvement processes to ensure productivity gains to expedite customer freight.
• Maintain relationships with U.S. Customs to ensure customers respond adequately to customs requirements and properly represent customer interests.
• Identify and coordinate training needs for operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Customs broker's license preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience in the customs brokerage industry.
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with Fed Ex Operating Company management, customers, government agencies, and T&B staff.
• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Customs and other federal agency laws, regulations, and procedures governing the customs brokerage industry.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to develop and maintain corporate policies and procedures, including comprehensive written skills.
• Demonstrated presentation skills required to lead or assist in the development of status reporting.
• Extensive working knowledge of company computer systems, including SharePoint.
• PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications: To keep in a reasonable range as the team and to support expectations for role and responsibilities. Would depend on experience/skills and certifications.

Base Pay: 4,324.97 – 8,151.42 USD.

Location:

Memphis, TN – WHQ Building H (3860 Hacks Cross). Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days at home). Day shift – 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. No requirement to work holidays.
