Senior Program Manager – Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
As one of three comprehensive portfolios at Medtronic, Neuroscience is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with neurological disorders, spine conditions, and chronic pain. Guided by our Mission—to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life—we develop technologies and therapies that help people regain function, reduce pain, and return to the activities that matter most.
Our Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) Operating Unit develops and delivers an integrated ecosystem of spinal implants, navigation and robotic guidance systems, advanced imaging, and data-driven planning tools for complex spine and cranial procedures. Platforms such as AiBLE™ connect these technologies to enhance surgical precision, streamline workflows, and support improved patient outcomes across the globe.
As the Senior Program Manager – Integrated Business Planning (IBP), you will serve as the Operating Unit's IBP leader, driving the end-to-end integrated business planning process and ensuring alignment across Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, and Product Lifecycle Management. In this highly visible role, you will lead the monthly IBP operating rhythm, integrating demand, supply, financial, and operational plans into a single, forward-looking roadmap that supports strategic business objectives.
Partnering closely with cross-functional leaders, you will facilitate executive decision-making by identifying risks, opportunities, and business scenarios, enabling data-driven decisions that optimize customer service, inventory, revenue, margin, capacity, and working capital across a 3–36 month planning horizon. Through strong collaboration and influence, you will strengthen organizational alignment, improve business agility, and drive operational excellence across the Operating Unit.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and govern the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, including Portfolio, Demand, Supply, Financial, and Management Business Reviews, ensuring alignment across the Operating Unit.
- Partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, and Product Lifecycle teams to develop and maintain a single, integrated business plan that supports strategic and operational objectives.
- Analyze business performance, identify risks and opportunities, develop scenario plans, and provide data-driven recommendations to support executive decision-making.
- Facilitate cross-functional planning forums to align priorities, resolve constraints, manage competing business needs, and drive timely decision-making.
- Translate long-range strategy, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and quarterly business commitments into actionable execution plans with measurable outcomes.
- Communicate planning assumptions, business implications, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership, enabling informed decisions and organizational alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement of the IBP process by implementing best practices, standardizing planning methodologies, leveraging analytics, and enhancing planning capabilities.
- Influence and align cross-functional teams without direct authority, fostering accountability, collaboration, and execution across a highly matrixed organization.
- Lead through ambiguity by solving complex business challenges, managing interdependencies across demand, supply, portfolio, and financial planning, and balancing competing priorities to optimize business performance.
