The Work Study Intern will assist the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) by providing crucial support to new clients during the startup phase. This role focuses on client on-boarding, training coordination, and follow-up, ensuring that clients are well-equipped to move forward with their business planning and development.
Job Duties- Client On-boarding
- Send a welcome package to new clients, including essential business planning tools and resources.
- Ensure all materials are up-to-date and tailored to client needs.
- Training Coordination
- Assist clients in identifying relevant training opportunities, including self-paced VOD courses.
- Register clients for training sessions and provide necessary follow-up information.
- Client Follow-up
- Conduct regular follow-up with clients to confirm business progress.
- Encourage client participation in TSBDC surveys and gather feedback on services provided.
- Must be a registered student of Southwest Tennessee Community College.
- Only students who are approved for Federal Work Study are qualified for this position.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Interest in small business development and entrepreneurship.
- Currently enrolled as a student at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Business or Legal Studies.
- Part-time position (up to 20 hours per week) during the academic year.
- Compensation in accordance with Federal Work Study guidelines.
