Public Relations InternWe are seeking a Public Relations Intern. The Public Relations intern will assist the Public Relations staff with day-to-day duties, special events and special projects. Focuses on completing tactics for public relations plans and creating content.
- Assist with media coverage round-ups and distribution
- Assist with the internal report for board of directors
- Assist PR team with administrative duties such as printing, purchasing office supplies, mailing items, travel planning, birthday celebrations, etc.
- Assist with interviewing and writing family stories, staff spotlights and other content for Youth Villages channels
- Support PR team with media opportunities and on-site events
- Takes photos at internal and external events as needed
- Maintains and supports creation of media lists and databases
- Monitors media for coverage
- Other duties assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEMust be enrolled in bachelor-level or above studies in public relations or journalism or have completed a degree in those fields. Must have successfully completed a news writing course or have equal experience in PR/news writing.
LOCATIONThis is an in-office position located in Bartlett, Tennessee, at the Youth Villages Operations Center with flexible hours to fit school schedule.
OTHERSKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to apply high degree of computer skills including knowledge of hardware capabilities, word processing, data base management, and desk top publishing. Ability to use a calculator and other office equipment. Ability to manage multiple agendas with a minimum of supervision and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to apply skills in English grammar, punctuation, news writing, Associated Press style and proofreading. Ability to maintain flexible hours as needed.
Ability to apply skills in teamwork.
