Brasfield & Gorrie, a leading General Contractor in the Southeast, is searching for experienced travelling Superintendents to join our growing heavy civil teams and run large‑scale, multi‑million‑dollar projects in the road, highway, and bridge markets.
ResponsibilitiesOther duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate and supervise civil construction projects from start to finish.
- Advocate safety as the number one priority on the jobsite and enforce compliance with company and jobsite safety plans, policies, and all safety‑related regulations.
- Partner with Estimating, Division Management and Project Management to supervise, direct, and coordinate the management of construction projects, including direct liaison with owners, designers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and orderly performance of the job.
- Develop and implement production plans with budget goals in mind.
- Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of project status reports.
- Prepare daily reports, progress reports, compliance reports, and logs.
- Oversee the review of plans and drawings in accordance with contract documents and the coordination of shop drawings.
- Procure tools and materials needed for the project to ensure availability according to the work schedule.
- Determine staffing levels and timing, considering building methodology and the availability of tools and equipment for each phase of the construction project.
- Recruit, hire, and direct the work of all company onsite field personnel in accordance with HR processes and procedures.
- Prepare or oversee submission of payroll to the Payroll Department and all documentation required to comply with HR and Payroll policies and procedures.
- Resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce by conferring with supervisory personnel and employees, with appropriate assistance from HR and Legal.
- Work with supervisory personnel, engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to improve construction methods and resolve construction issues.
- Ensure construction schedules are adhered to by determining appropriate staffing levels and material and tool procurement.
- Update Primavera P6 schedule when necessary.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors to monitor their compliance with subcontract terms.
- Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and oversee regulatory inspections.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred; minimum of 8 years of relevant construction experience.
- Current knowledge and ability to apply relevant local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information to top management, owners, subcontractors, and other outside entities.
