Job DescriptionPerformance Contracting is seeking a Branch Safety Engineer for its Memphis-142 operations based in Memphis, TN
. The BSE will support the Corporate Regional Safety Manager (RSM). This is a traveling position, traveling to projects in Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas.
This position is safety‑sensitive. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities- Promote safety, safe work practices and behaviours to instill an injury‑free culture throughout PCI Memphis projects and offices.
- Assist the branch with implementing and administering PCG and client accident prevention plans, policies and procedures.
- Provide safety resources including employee training, expertise and guidance, and assist in ensuring that regulatory compliance is maintained with respect to safety, industrial hygiene and environmental protection.
- Ensure that the company and client safety reports, statistics and documentation are submitted in a timely manner.
- Assist in the investigation of work‑related injuries, illnesses and near‑miss incidents.
- Enforce corrective action to prevent the recurrence of hazardous conditions or behaviours.
- Review all accidents and investigation reports.
- Provide safety technical expertise and support to the branch.
- Promote safety procedures and safe work practices.
- Act as liaison between the company and client as it relates to site safety management.
- Assist in identifying, correcting and mitigating routine and non‑routine safety and health hazards.
- Monitor the company’s accident prevention plan for effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement where necessary.
- Card and coach workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies and procedures.
- Identify, anticipate and evaluate potential safety‑health hazards.
- Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance.
- In conjunction with the Branch Safety Supervisor and Regional Safety Manager, work to develop and implement safety policies and procedures as necessary to ensure safe working conditions.
- Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provide safety resources for workers.
- Facilitate required trainings with supervisors.
- Establish branch and project safety goals.
- Ability to perform all job duties and associated work functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Maintain and administer safety incentive program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety.
- Knowledge of construction good safety practices.
- Motivated self‑starter willing to take initiative.
- Good team player who is willing to routinely work with RSM, GM, or any other related position.
- Capable of spending 80% of daily time in the field with craft.
- Able to work 40+ hours per week.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and labour experience in the field.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
- Work well under pressure and deadlines.
- Ability to learn new safety skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.
- Ability to plan, execute and organize safety paperwork.
- Able to work with customers and employees, building strong relationships.
- Able to follow all site rules & guidelines.
- Follow all PCG requirements, including wearing hard hat, safety glasses, boots, pants, gloves, sleeves, safety vest, and any other required PPE.
- OSHA 30‑hour certification preferred.
- OSHA 500.
