Job SummaryThe Senior Superintendent will oversee all on‑site activities for multiple commercial construction projects in the Memphis area, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Day‑to‑Day Duties- Lead daily construction operations, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews.
- Develop, enforce, and monitor site safety programs in line with OSHA regulations.
- Prepare and deliver daily progress reports to project managers and senior leadership.
- Manage material deliveries, equipment utilization, and workforce scheduling to optimize productivity.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, enforce quality control, and resolve any deficiencies.
- Handle change orders, track project documentation, and assist with close‑out procedures.
- Mentor junior superintendents and field personnel, fostering a safety‑first culture.
- Maintain clear communication with owners, architects, and internal teams to address questions and changes promptly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline – or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a superintendent or senior supervisory role.
- Valid Tennessee driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Deep understanding of construction methods, building codes, and contract administration.
- Proven ability to lead large, multi‑disciplinary crews and manage projects ranging from $5 M to $30 M.
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to interact effectively with clients, architects, and internal teams.
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience managing projects with complex trade coordination (concrete, steel, MEP, finishes).
- Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining exemplary safety records.
- Familiarity with lean construction principles and value‑engineering techniques.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30‑Hour, PMP, or CSM.
- Experience using advanced scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6) and cost‑control software.
