Directorof Fiber Construction and Project Management
As the key strategic leader in the Memphis area, you will oversee all fiber network construction projects, partner with the Installation Supervisor, and support the installation team’s operations—providing leadership, optimizing workflows, and reinforcing a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Pay$140,000 – $160,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus a $5,000 sign‑on bonus.
Responsibilities- Strategic Oversight & Planning: develop and implement a long‑term construction strategy that aligns with the company's growth goals, including project plans, budgets, and timelines for fiber network expansion.
- Project Execution: oversee all phases of construction projects, from initial design and planning to execution and completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all quality and safety standards.
- Team Leadership: lead, mentor, and manage a team of in‑house construction crews and project managers, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and high performance.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: coordinate and manage all third‑party vendors, contractors, and subcontractors, negotiating contracts, managing bids, and ensuring work meets specifications.
- Compliance & Safety: guarantee all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and safety protocols.
- Budget & Resource Management: manage project budgets, track expenditures, and allocate resources to optimize cost‑effectiveness and avoid delays.
- Stakeholder Communication: serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, engineers, and local officials, providing regular project updates and addressing any issues.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or director‑level role, preferably within telecommunications or utilities.
- Proven expertise in managing large‑scale infrastructure projects such as fiber‑optic network build‑outs.
- In‑depth knowledge of construction processes, project management methodologies, and best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools for project management and construction oversight.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
