General Labor - Location:
Madison, TN (Northern Middle Tennessee area) - Employment:
Full-Time - Schedule:
Day shift (some night and weekend work required) - Starting Wage: $24.00 per hour
- General laborer role on construction projects.
- Pushing and pulling asphalt rakes to achieve fine-grade specifications.
- Using sledge hammer to drive pins and pick/shovel for digging.
- Hooking up trailers and fastening attachments to equipment.
- Flagger duties, setting up traffic control, and placing barrels and cones.
- Smoothing freshly poured asphalt and shoveling materials.
- Completing labor tasks around the mill.
- Operating broom and skid steer to clean milled surfaces.
- Operating an asphalt mill and related heavy equipment safely and appropriately under varied conditions.
- Performing daily maintenance and safety checks, cleaning, and greasing.
- Assisting other workers as directed and performing other duties as assigned by management.
- Opportunities for entry-level and experienced asphalt pavers.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions (cold, heat, humidity).
- Commitment to a safe work environment, following all safety policies and procedures.
- Adherence to company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
- Reporting issues to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
- Assisting in patching asphalt with hot and cold mix.
- Following the Foreman's direction on daily tasks and project expectations.
- Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production.
- Previous related experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and meet daily schedules.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
