Role DescriptionThe Residential Remodeling Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Memphis, TN. This position oversees day-to-day field operations for residential remodeling projects, including coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and ensuring work meets quality and safety standards. The superintendent conducts site inspections, confirms that materials and labor are available as needed, and resolves issues that arise during construction. The role also involves communicating regularly with homeowners, project managers, and vendors to provide updates, clarify expectations, and maintain project timelines and budgets.
The superintendent is responsible for maintaining clean, organized job sites and ensuring all work complies with applicable codes and company policies.
- Demonstrated experience supervising residential remodeling or construction projects, including hands‑on understanding of carpentry, finishes, and building systems.
- Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage schedules, monitor budgets, and oversee multiple trades on active job sites.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards relevant to residential remodeling in the Memphis, TN area.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve on-site issues, make sound decisions, and maintain a professional, solution-focused approach under time constraints.
- Competence using basic technology tools for scheduling, documentation, email, and photo reporting; familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
- Reliable transportation to job sites, and willingness to work on-site daily with occasional extended hours as project demands require.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications in construction management, residential building, or related fields are preferred.
