Summary/Objective:
The Senior Site Superintendent assists in planning and coordinating activities related to new home construction. The Senior Site Superintendent supervises Construction Operations Managers to provide oversight, supervision, and safety/quality control of new house construction. The Senior Site Superintendent will also manage the daily tasks of the Construction Operations Managers, as well as maintaining construction software and tracking progress.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that houses are built to the requirements & specifications established by construction drawings, building codes, and company standards.
  • Work with the Mortgage Services team during the pre-construction phase to ensure that home buyers make their color selections promptly.

    Document this information on the build status sheets and software and ensure it is communicated to the Construction Operations Managers.
  • Support Construction Operations Managers as they guide and direct field employees, trade contractors, suppliers, and volunteers.
  • Follow up with Construction Operations Managers for house inspections and walk-throughs. Strive for no-defect construction.
  • Coordinates building schedules with the Construction Operations Managers.
  • Provides the Construction Operations Manager with a house-specific punch list.
  • Confirm all closing dates with Mortgage Services and the Director of Construction.
  • Timely documentation and email responses
  • Discuss deficiencies and concerns with subcontractors and work to ensure needed corrections are made.
  • Communicate effectively and create an environment that promotes a successful experience for your team, our home buyers, donors, and subcontractors.
  • Manage projects, staff, and time to ensure meeting closing and funding deadlines.
  • Coordinate with MLGW about work orders and overhead/underground electric and gas services.
  • Along with construction operations managers, evaluate and implement effective safety practices, and consistently reinforce these practices with contractors and other staff.
  • Attend required meetings and training(s).
  • Be Flexible and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility

Will supervise the Construction Operations Managers. May be called upon to supervise trainees, volunteers, and subcontractors.

Work Environment

This position usually operates both in a construction and administrative setting. This role routinely uses tools related to construction and standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee will be required to reach with their hands and arms. The employee will occasionally be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, based on the business’s needs. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties are in demand.

Required

Education and Experience
  • 7-10 years of experience in construction/contracting or related experience
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
Preferred Experience
  • Nonprofit and/or Habitat for Humanity
  • Construction Management experience
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Database entry, i.e., Salesforce, Pro Core
Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Able to meet employment verification requirements and pass pre-employment background, drug, and sex offender registry checks. Has a valid driver’s license and is able to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
