Commercial Construction Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead field operations for commercial and multifamily construction projects throughout the Memphis area. This role is responsible for overseeing daily jobsite activities, coordinating subcontractors and trade partners, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a proven background with a commercial general contractor, strong field leadership skills, and experience managing complex projects from groundbreaking through final turnover. This position works closely with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver successful construction projects.
Responsibilities- Oversee all on-site construction activities from project startup through final completion.
- Supervise subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and trade partners to maintain schedule, quality, and productivity.
- Develop, update, and maintain short-term and long-term construction schedules.
- Coordinate project sequencing, site logistics, manpower, equipment, and material deliveries.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and proactively resolve field issues and scheduling conflicts.
- Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite safety programs.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
- Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, specifications, and project documents to support field execution.
- Partner with Project Managers to coordinate budgets, procurement, scheduling, and project milestones.
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and daily planning discussions.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, site documentation, progress photos, and project records.
- Coordinate inspections, punch-list completion, owner walkthroughs, project turnover, and final closeout.
- Build strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Identify project risks early and implement solutions to minimize delays and maintain productivity.
