- Assist in the overall supervision and administration of project safety
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
- Coordinate project safety efforts to prevent accidents and injuries
- Communicate project safety conditions to the HSE Manager, HSE Director, and project supervision
- Participate in developing and conducting field safety orientation training
- Inspect machinery, equipment, and working conditions daily for regulatory compliance and safe work practices
- Observe workers’ use of prescribed safety equipment
- Inspect areas for fire-prevention equipment, first-aid supplies, and other safety devices
- Test work areas for hazard exposures such as noise and toxic substances
- Prepare daily reports with findings and corrective-action recommendations
- Investigate accidents to establish root causes and recommend preventive safety measures
- Document accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions, and unsafe behavior
- Assist with developing job safety analyses, corporate safety and health management programs, and project-specific safety plans
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and instruct workers on company and project safety practices
- Demonstrate equipment use and conduct safety training
- 5 years of construction experience
- 1 year of experience as an on-site safety person
- OSHA 30hr card for the Construction Industry
- Completed First Aid, CPR, and AED training
- Specialized training relevant to scope of work
- Working knowledge of safety regulations and hazard control methods
- Strong attention to detail with good analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
- Preferred:
Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC), Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST), Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST), Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) - Ability to travel 75–85% of the time to job site(s)/office location
- Ability to perform the listed physical activities and physical demands, including moving objects up to 20 pounds
Demonstrates expertise in project safety supervision, regulatory compliance, and hazard control methods, with a strong focus on effective communication and training in safety practices. Holds relevant certifications and possesses extensive experience in the construction industry.
