JOB SUMMARY/
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Media Specialist plans, designs, develops, and creates media for faculty and TLC staff, primarily videos and animations used for Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) programming and academic courses. This position collaborates with advising faculty and provides input on the use of media hardware and software in teaching and learning.
ResponsibilitiesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Arts, Communications, Digital Media, Arts and Sciences, Instructional Design, or related field of study. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED).
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of digital media experience; OR Master’s Degree in lieu of experience; ORa combination of relevant education and experience to equal five (5) years.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and application of media production, delivery, theories, technologies, principles, concepts, and methodologies
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations in relation to accessibility and copyright.
- Knowledge of website design and development, including Word Press and Word Press add‑ons
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical personnel.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to accurately identify technical issues and resolve or redirect appropriate support resources.
- Ability to work closely with various members of the college community in concept and project development to meet their needs.
- Ability to plan and schedule complex productions, organize production teams, and meet deadlines.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends. May require occasional overnight travel.
