Job DescriptionThe Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Community Oral Health at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center seeks a vibrant pediatric dentist to join our passionate team of academic clinicians. This is a full-time non-tenure Open Rank Professor position. This position provides didactic lecturing and clinical supervision of dental students and residents.
ResponsibilitiesRESEARCH:
- Participation in resident and student research projects.
TEACHING:
- Some didactic course development and delivery.
- Some instruction in a predoctoral lab course.
- Moderation of literature reviews and other seminars as needed.
- Clinical supervision of dental students and residents involved in patient care.
PATIENT CARE:
- Direct patient care possibilities to be developed.
SERVICE:
- Participation in College of Dentistry committees and priorities.
- Individuals new to academics will be expected to participate in professional development activities to establish a scholarly foundation for didactic and clinical teaching activities.
- Additional duties at the discretion of the department chair.
EDUCATION: DDS or DMD or international equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in hospital dentistry and advanced behavior guidance techniques is preferred.
LICENSES: Board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Dentist by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Tennessee dental license. A certificate from a CODA-accredited advanced education program in pediatric dentistry.
