Job Description

The Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Community Oral Health at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences seeks a vibrant pediatric dentist to join our passionate team of academic clinicians. This part-time, non-tenure, Open Rank Professor position primarily provides clinical supervision of dental students and residents, with some didactic lecturing required.

• Provide supervision of dental students and residents involved in patient care.
• Develop and deliver didactic courses.
• Instruction in a predoctoral laboratory course.
• Participate in College of Dentistry committees and priorities.
• New to academics: participate in professional development activities to establish a scholarly foundation for teaching.
• Additional duties at the discretion of the Department Chair.
• Participate in resident and student research projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program (required). A master's degree in dental hygiene or a related health field is preferred; candidates without a master's must demonstrate commitment to pursue graduate education and be willing to complete a master's within five years of employment.

• TN dental license or eligibility to obtain one.

• Experience in hospital dentistry and advanced behavior guidance techniques.
• Board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Dentist by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
