Position Summary
Position Summary The Associate Industrial Designer will support the design and development of ceiling fans as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team. This is a full-time position based in Memphis, TN, with a hybrid schedule. The ideal candidate is creative, motivated, and eager to grow in a fast-paced product development environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop original and compelling ceiling fan design concepts under direction from the Lead Industrial Designer
- Translate market trends, consumer insights, and consumer behavior into thoughtful product solutions
- Create clear sketches, 3D CAD models, and renderings to effectively communicate design intent
- Contribute to team brainstorming sessions, collaborative critiques, and internal reviews
- Research materials, finishes, forms, and design trends to inform product development
- Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing to align design intent through development
- Perform other duties as assigned that contribute to the success of the design department and Hunter Fan Company
- Minimal travel expected
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or related field
- 0–3 years of experience in product design (internships/co-ops welcome; recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Portfolio that demonstrates strong design thinking, sketching, and 3D modeling
- 3D modeling skills required; proficiency in Solid Works, Rhino, Key Shot, and/or CREO a plus
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Eagerness to learn and openness to constructive feedback
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
