HBG Design is seeking a skilled Architect to contribute to the design and delivery of the firm’s hospitality and entertainment projects. The position will assist in preparing architectural designs and construction documents and serve as a bridge between the firm’s design and construction documentation functions.
The Successful Candidate:If you are looking for an exciting new place to grow, HBG Design is seeking an experienced Architect with the ability to work independently to deliver high-caliber projects and help manage others in building their skills in project documentation and design solutions. This position requires a specialized understanding of building materials, construction methods and costs, and the ability to interact and appropriately apply building codes and regulations.
The successful candidate will also possess high level analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Work closely with project teams to translate design concepts into cost-effective and innovative building design solutions by applying knowledge of building materials and construction methods.
- Utilize Revit technology to assist in transforming designs and sketches into 3D models and construction documents, while meeting established deadlines and project budgets.
- Assist in researching and interpreting architectural systems/materials and all applicable codes and regulations to determine and inform appropriate design solutions, as directed by the Project Architect.
- Aid in documenting and maintaining project design files, to include all design decisions pertaining to material selection and construction methods.
- Collaboratively brainstorm and develop solutions to design challenges.
- Participate in the guidance and development of less experienced team members.
- Assist the Project Architect in submittal reviews, RFIs, and ASIs, as needed.
- Current architectural license
- Four (4) or five (5) year architecture degree from an accredited program.
- Experience with hospitality, gaming, and/or entertainment design projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of building technology, as demonstrated by self-produced documents and communication of the design process.
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to architectural design, as illustrated by the caliber of portfolio/resume projects, and specific project design contributions.
- Ability to collaboratively identify and resolve complex technical and design-related issues and cultivate innovative design solutions.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience mentoring and leading junior level project team staff.
- Proficiency in Revit, Sketch-up, Photoshop, and Microsoft Suite.
$75,000 – $120,000 per year.
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, regional cost of living, experience, and qualifications.
