Job Description
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, is seeking a physician anesthesiologist as the Chief of our Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia program. This is a full‑time open rank non‑tenure‑track academic faculty and clinician position. Individuals with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified generalists would be considered.
Responsibilities- Direct patient care.
- Teaching and supervising nurse anesthetists and residents.
- Opportunities for clinical and basic science research, participation encouraged.
- Support the vision, mission, core values, and goals through teaching, service, patient care, and research.
- Serve on committees and boards for state/federal agencies, professional societies, and/or within the College of Medicine.
- Actively engage in community service with students/residents.
- Conduct basic or clinical research and/or other scholarly activities that qualify for promotion and tenure.
- M.D. or equivalent degree.
- Completion of an accredited residency; sub‑certifications/training highly preferred.
- Board certified or board eligible by the ABA.
- Eligible for licensure in Tennessee; current unrestricted licensure as a physician in Tennessee.
- Current DEA number (certification).
