The Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) serves as the University's chief academic leader, responsible for ensuring a high-quality faculty, a current and mission-aligned curriculum, strong student enrollment, and the overall academic excellence of Christian Brothers University graduates. Reporting directly to the President, the VPAA provides strategic leadership across all instructional areas and key academic support functions, including the registrar, advising, honors, institutional research and effectiveness, and graduate and online programs.
Acting as the President's principal advisor on academic strategy and policy, the VPAA collaborates closely with senior leadership and represents the University's academic mission to internal and external stakeholders. This role builds institutional capacity by being strategically minded, outcomes-focused, and process-oriented, while supervising and evaluating academic leaders and fostering a transparent, collaborative culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Earned terminal degree from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in academic affairs (e.g., dean, associate provost, provost/VPAA, or comparable leadership scope)
- Successful experience with academic planning, program development, curriculum oversight, and assessment of student learning outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to lead through collaboration, build trust, strengthen shared governance, and communicate effectively across stakeholder groups
- Commitment to advancing the Lasallian mission of Christian Brothers University and its Catholic/Lasallian educational tradition.
