Assistant Professor - Department of Physical Therapy

Job Description

The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center invites applications for a full‑time non‑tenure track Instructor/Assistant Professor for a 12‑month position. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.

Faculty responsibilities include teaching, student advisement, and university and professional service. Faculty will also be expected to disseminate scholarly work in accordance with professional and college guidelines.

Education: Instructor:
Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree. Assistant Professor:
Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree or Masters/Bachelors’ Physical Therapy Degree and Academic Doctorate in a related field.

Experience: Evidence of teaching experience and content expertise. Three years of clinical experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

License: Physical Therapy license and/or eligibility for licensure in the State of Tennessee.

• Evidence of academic teaching experience at the university level.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
• Record of scholarly activity.
• Evidence of leadership in a professional organization at a state or national level.
• Board specialty or clinical certification in physical therapy content area.
• Evidence of leadership or administration in clinical practice.
