Position SummaryGestalt Community Schools is currently accepting applications for High School Science Teacher(s) at Power Center Academy High School for the 2016-17 school year. GCS is a great place to work, and much of that is due to our scholars as well as the great people who work here who are mission‑driven. We hire talented, diverse staff members and foster a culture of achievement, community, innovation, and leadership.
GCS teachers design weekly lesson plans, develop standards‑based assessments, analyze assessment data to drive results, and create intervention plans to meet our scholars’ needs. In addition, GCS teachers effectively integrate technology in the classroom and implement project‑based learning.
- 2+ years effective teaching experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree or greater in Science or related subject
- Current TN teaching license in appropriate subject area or the ability to secure a TN teaching license
- Proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, and value added data
- Belief that all students can learn at high academic levels
- Ability to use digital content, technology integration, and project‑based learning
- Secured undergraduate and/or graduate majors aligned to subject area certification
- Ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co‑teacher
- Proficient in MS Office, student online curriculum and intervention programs, teacher online grade book programs, and student database systems

HoursAll Gestalt Community Schools have an extended day. The start and end times vary by location. However, administrators and teachers can expect to be at school from approximately 7:15 AM to 4:45 PM.
