Specialized instruction of children ages 2–6

Associate Teacher’s Primary

Purpose:

To design, model, and create learning experiences for young students that allow each student the opportunity to reach their God-given potential in a way that supports the mission and values of the school.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Specialization and passion for teaching young students;
Working closely with a lead classroom teacher;
Implementation of Woodland’s Educational Philosophy;
Staying current with teaching strategies, techniques, and educational technology;
Consistent and clear parent and student communication;
Working collaboratively with administrators and colleagues;
Planning and directing grade level plays and/or performances;
Planning and attendance of field trips;
Participation on school committees;
Attendance and participation in divisional meetings;
Student arrival and/or dismissal duties;
Adherence to Faculty Guidelines;
Participating in professional development;
Supervision of students;
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, independent school environment;
Support the school’s Statement of Faith.

Experience &

Physical Requirements:

Teaching experience (minimum of three years);
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred in related field;
Valid teacher licensure preferred but not required;
Proficient in advanced technology skills;
Ability to regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and visually identify visitors;
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
