Position: LEARNING SPECIALIST
Reports To: Assistant Principal
Essential Responsibilities:- Demonstrate a love for God and His childrene

- Takes ownership for the academic results of his/her students
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Implement targeted small group phonics instruction using the UFLI Foundations program with fidelity and consistency
- Deliver daily or scheduled UFLI lessons during reading rotation blocks to reinforce foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, decoding, and encoding
- Administer UFLI assessments to track student progress and determine next steps in UFLI instruction
- Use student data (e.g., assessments, progress monitoring, teacher input) to form and adjust flexible small groups for differentiated UFLI instruction
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align UFLI instruction with CKLA Skills lessons, ensuring coherence between whole group and small group learning
- Coordinate quarterly UFLI culminating activities in collaboration with classroom teachers
- Attend weekly common grade level planning meetings to ensure comprehensive understanding of the regular curriculum
- Attend weekly Learning Specialists planning meetings to ensure growth of professional skills
- Produce materials and implement strategies to accommodate individual learning needs/styles
- Review and reinforce learning activities using the grade level lesson plans and learn strategies developed by the teacher/team to help students master concepts and skills
- Assist students with learning activities and/or independent study projects developed by the teacher/team
- Monitor and report to teacher, grade level team, and administrators on the implementation of individual and/or small group programs
- Observe and document learner strengths, achievements, and needs
- Provide information to classroom teacher for home/school formal/informal communication
- Provide home/school formal/informal communication when necessary
- Assist in supervision of students and materials
- Actively participate in the on-going development of the school’s Professional Learning Community (PLC)
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned by the Administration Minimum
