Job DescriptionThe University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track academic position.
Academic rank at the time of appointment shall be commensurate with experience and credentials.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will be a pediatric provider in any relevant sub-specialty with experience in managing programs in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. A history of scholarship in these areas is preferred. This individual will serve as the Vice Chair of DEI in the Department of Pediatrics and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, reporting directly to the Chair of Pediatrics and serving on the senior leadership team of the Department.
The role will involve recruitment, retention, mentoring, and career development of other faculty members and trainees.
The successful candidate will demonstrate clinical skills in pediatrics or a pediatric subspecialty and a history of working with a culturally diverse pediatric population. The position involves education of trainees at all levels in the individual’s sub-specialty. A personal research program will be encouraged.
QualificationsRequires a MD, DO, PhD, PsyD, or equivalent degree in a clinical field, and board certification or board eligibility in the relevant sub-specialty.
Departmental Preferences:
- Associate or full professor rank on the tenure-track in the department of Pediatrics.
- Prior experience developing or managing programs in an academic setting.
- History of scholarship in equity, diversity, and inclusion.
