LEAD PRE-SCHOOL TEACHER

$19.48/HOURLY

This is a part-time position without benefits.

Essential Job Functions:

* Responsible for daily planning and execution of all classroom activities.

* Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music and storytelling.

* Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene and social skills.

* Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development and physical health.

* Responsible for maintaining records for each child and in preparing progress or other reports on assigned children for parents.

* Responsible for holding a parent-teacher conference on each child at least once a year.

* Responsible for maintaining discipline in a preschool classroom in line with Preschool Education goals.

* Responsible for keeping the classroom visually appealing, such as bulletin boards, displays, etc.

* Responsible for overseeing communications to parents including but not limited to emails, newsletters & social media groups.

Job Functions:

* Required to work seamlessly across the department, providing assistance whenever needed to ensure the successful fulfilment of Parks & Recreations mission.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:

* Demonstrated ability to nurture young children.

* Must be able to relate to adults on all levels of the socioeconomic structure of the community.

* Ability to plan, organize and instruct activities for preschool children while maintaining order

* Ability to recognize problems, identify their potential effect and develop alternative strategies for preventing or solving them.

* Ability to function independently, attend to detail, work under pressure and multi-task.

Education and Experience:

* Must be a high school graduate, college degree preferred.

* Must have Early Childhood training.

* Must have a minimum of 4 years' experience working with children in an early childhood setting.

Special Requirements :

* Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or must obtain within 6 months

* Must pass a Driver's License & background check and physical examination including drug screen.
